Breakfast Thieves @ Bangsar

June 29, 2017 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

“We are all thieves when it comes to fine food.”
And the restaurant which is located in APW captured my attention at the first sight.  The restaurant which is housed in the remains of an old chocolate factory in Fitzroy Melbourne, Australia. Often listed as one of the top 5 cafes in Melbourne, Breakfast Thieves has made a name for itself since being founded in 2012.
Co-Founders, Brandon Chin, Kevin Foo and Edwin Koh are Malaysians through and through, therefore it only made sense to open another branch in the bustling capital that is Kuala Lumpur. Staying true to the origins of the industrial-chic themed BT Melbourne, BT KL is located in the heart of Bangsar amidst a 63-year old commercial printing factory.
Patrons can expect to be whisked away by modern Australian cuisine with a touch of Asian influence. The open space provides a nice relaxing environment for everyone, where friends chat over brunch, business lunches are conducted, families gather and coffee enthusiast get their daily fix.
Some of the signature which we had sampled there are so tempting and delicious.
The Breakfast Chain (RM 28)
A nice combination of breakfast and I am impressed.  The berry compote yogurt are impressively good where they comes together with the homemade  granola; a pot of lemon infused banoffe and strawberry crumble & side of soft-boiled eggs with cheddar soldiers. It brings you with the refreshing taste especially the fruits and the homemade granola.
Leprechaun (RM 25 – a Vegetarian Meal)
The great huge platter of the breakfast set where they are  served with crisp sweet corn & zuchini fritters with beetroot puree, cauliflower mousse, buttered corn, honey-confit carrot and poached eggs. The platter not only delicious but they are simply generous where the poached egg are absolutely a winner of the whole meal.Creamy and rich with a light zing!
Senor Anthony Bandolero (RM 31)
This is addictive with a great twist. Served with pantai remis, panko-crumbed Perak tiger prawns with cream of salted egg yolk, open omelette, grilled corn curb, side of tortilla, green papaya, carrot and dried shrimp salad. I love the salted egg yolk combination where the taste comes creamy and simply addictive. Nice one!
Overall, the place is indeed a great place for food in a relaxed ambience. I am definitely come back for more as I am indeed falling in love with both the Leprechaun  and The Breakfast Chain (RM 28)
