There’s an interesting legend to the founding of the temple. A monk found a bone that was supposed to be the shoulder bone of Buddha himself. The temple offers a spectacular view of Chiang Mai.

There are more than three hundred steps up to the temple. If you would not want to climb, there is also a tram service which takes you up with just 20 baht only. Entrance to the temple is costing you at 30 baht for foreigners and free for Thais.

If you are there, you can see the magnificent view of the buddha. Once inside the temple grounds; visitors must take off their shoes. Visitors must be appropriately dressed.

The place is perfectly a facinating place to visit and understand the story behind of the temple itself. It is just a perfect fun escape.
